for weddings - check out our calendar located under the availability section! although we have almost reached our capacity for 2013 weddings, we are now accepting bookings for 2014. please note that brides are booking us an average of 12-15 months in advance. as a result, we recommend you contact us as soon as possible.

for portrait sessions - email us! we are currently accepting bookings for 2013 sessions, but we do have limited availability due to high demand. please note that our portrait sessions typically book up about 3 months in advance! so if you'd like to reserve your slot, get in touch with us today :)

how can i see more of your portfolio?

our website shows some of our favorite photos, but our blog has the latest and most recent projects we've worked on - including weddings, portrait sessions & engagement sessions. if you're curious to see a real wedding, start to finish... or a real depicition of what a portait session looks like... the blog is your best bet.

how can i book?

so you say you've fallen in love with our stuff? or maybe you're just curious to know the process of booking? first, contact us directly through the website from the "contact page". from there, we'll start talking via email and figuring out the best time to meet or the best time for a session.

for weddings, we rrreeeeaaalllllyyy like to meet you before we book. not only is this important to ensure that you are comfortable with us and our photography style - but it gives us a chance to talk more specifically about your wedding and what you're looking for in a photographer. this way - there are no suprises and we each know one another's expectations.

what does it take to book our date, officially?

so you realllly want to book your date with mustard seed? awesome! we require a $500 deposit plus a signed contract to officially book your date. with out those things, the date is open for any other bride & groom to book. that being said, we really want you to take your time in making a decision because we want you to know for certain that mustard seed is the right photography company for you! we are fun, quirky, and incredibly creative! and we want the entire photography experience to be relaxed and fun too! but, we do get A LOT of inquiries on a daily basis and usually, there is more than 1 couple looking for the same date. so once you know you want to book us for sure, let us know so you can book a.s.a.p.

what should I wear?

you should wear what ever you feel comfortable in! I always tell my clients that if they wouldn't normally wear something, then don't wear it for your session. organic photography is natural and candid - just as you are.

colors?

bright colors always come out best, both in color pictures and in black and white! so if you want to stand out, wear a color that will too!

accessories?

yes! accessories are great, especially for wedding day "photo-booth" opportunities! Big glasses, necklaces, etc - all will make your photos pop with creativity! for your session, think scarfs, boots, neat belts, etc...

wedding day timeline?

We'll meet for an initial consultation when you are ready to book.

We'll talk 1 week before your wedding for a final recap.

On the day of your wedding, we'll show up when you specify and jump right in to pictures.

3-4 weeks after your big day, you'll get an email with a link to a "sneak peak" on the blog.

4-5 weeks after your big day, your USB will arrive in the mail.

2-3 weeks AFTER ordering your products, you'll get everything in the mail.

what kind of editing do you do?

we'll do standard editing for your photos. that means image selections, color corrections, minor spot healing, cropping, resizing, etc. we take a really natural approach to editing, our method is to enhance the original photo - not do a whole lot of fancy photoshop work.

how many pictures do you typically take?

before delivering any photos, part of the editing process is image selection - which helps us narrow your photos down to just the cream of the crop. you'll still get a substanstial amount of images, but you probably won't see any of the ones that were blurry or where someone blinked.

at a portrait session, we average 100-200 photos upon completion of the session. of these, you'll get a CD with anywhere from 50-100 photos, depending on the image selection.

at an engagement or bridal session, we average 150-300 photos upon completion of the session. of these, you'll get a CD with anywhere from 75-150 photos from your session depending on the image selection.

at a wedding, we average about 200 photos per hour. depending on the length of time you selected for your wedding photography, final delivery count could be anywhere from 400-700 photos depending on the image selection. all weddings come standard with USB drives.

how does the copyright affect me?

each session/wedding gives you print release for your images, allowing you to print them at your desire and also post them to your facebook or email them to friends. we'd love it if you gave a shout out to mustard seed photography - but we don't require it :) and since mustard seed still retains the copyright to the images you can't sell the images in any form or fashion or use them for marketing, publications, or things of that sort. most personal uses are acceptable but if you would like to clarify something with us please feel free to ask.
